Finally!

My mom has dreaded for a long time having her knee replacements. She had the 1st one on Oct 27th. She done awesome. She was up on her own without a walker as soon as she got home 4 days after surgery. She was really proud she had that one done and was pushing for the 2nd one to be done quickly. She recently had the 2nd one on Jan 12th. That one was not near as easy. She has more pain, more bruising, less range of motion and is still using a walker. But she is only 6 days post op. Every surgery is different. She will recover from this one just as well but it is going to take a little longer. I am just so glad she done great with the 1st one so she wanted to have the 2nd one. If it had been the other way around not sure she would do the 2nd one.

FINALLY they are both done! After she heals and gets back up on her feet she should be good to go. I pray that all the pain from her knees that she has suffered from all these years will gone.

As for me I am still pushing forward on my diet or "lifestyle change". I have done great at making better choices, smaller portions and exercise. I just got back from a 30min walk. That was over a mile. If I didn't need to potty due to all the water I am drinking I may would have walked longer. I am also not in real good walking shoes and I can tell there maybe some blisters.

Brody is doing great. I am amazed at how much he knows and how quickly he picks things up. He is such a ray of sunshine. Beautiful and amazing.

Back on track

I have been back on the diet/exercise band wagon for the last 2 days. I have taken in a load of water today which always helps me. I exercised 2x yesterday and once already today.

As for Brody he is doing good. He really loves moving his blocks or his cars from one place to another. I hope he doesn't hoard things when he gets older. The last few days he has been saying 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. That is just so sweet. I am very proud of him.

I have yet to take him for his 2 year check up cause I know they will want him to get the MMR shot. I am just not comfortable with that shot yet. Maybe I am paranoid and don't have a reason to be but I am his mother and I get to make that decision. My baby is normal. No signs of delayed developement or autism. I know a mother who right now is having a problem because her son was advanced with his language skills and 2mo after he received the MMR he has completely regressed to pointing and grunting. Could just be a coincidence. It just scares me though. I know that no matter what I will love my son. He is everything to me. I also know that if something does happen it was God's plan. I just pray that God will lead me in the right direction and show me what to do.

Failed again

I done really well on the diet Wed and Thur. I even got in some exercise. Yesterday was my mom's birthday so I took her out to eat at Pasado's. I should have made better choices but I had the cancun. I didn't realize until I got home that the guy cheated me out of $4.00. I guess he enjoyed his big tip. Lesson learned though.

Then comes today when I just had that 'I am never gonna lose weight, just eat until your heart is content, feeling sorry for myself feeling'. It sucks when I feel that way because I always pig out on those days. So once again that is what I have done today. Hopefully I can jump right back on the right track in the morning.

After taking mom to eat and getting her some small kitchen appliances for her birthday we came home only for me to turn around and go back to town with Brad. I wasn't upset in the least though. We went to get our kitchen cabinets. They were out of 5 of them but we have them ordered and paid for. We aren't in any hurry for them just wanted to get them while they were on sale and I had 15% off coupon. The cabinets themselves were $2229.00. With my coupon it came out to be $1909.00. I was very happy with that. I still want to get a big pantry cabinet which is another $339.

When I left for work today Brad was staining the beams. I hope he was able to get finished. The stain on them is darker than I wanted/had pictured in my mind. But it is ok. It really brings out the pine wood in the ceiling. I think the next step is putting up the trim in the ceiling so that we can polyurethane it. After that we should be able to get started putting the plywood on the floor or the sheetrock on the walls. I am so ready to get this room finished.

No snow

Apparently many of the states are seeing a snowfall of some sort. Some more than others. It was predicted we would have very little snow if any but would have freezing rain tonight. Luckily there wasn't any freezing rain. The sky is clear. Unfortunately no snow. We did have some wind and when we have any amount of wind the electricity goes off. It was back on by the time I got home but that meant no heat in the house. The house was 50 degrees when I got here. Not bad. I turned the heaters back on, cranked up the propane heater and within a few minutes it was already 60 in here. Brody doesn't seem to mind. He came right in and starting playing with his cars. Right now he is avoiding getting in my lap so that he won't have to go night night.

Dieting went well again today. I actually exercised again this morning for 15min even though I was running late getting ready for work. Go me!

Starting over again

Once again I am starting a diet. That is the story of my life. I need to do this for my health, my family and to TTC #2.

I done really well today. Basically a liquid diet all day. I exercised 2x. 15min in AM and 17min in PM

As for Brody he is feeling better. No diarrhea today thank goodness. He did say a few naughty words today though. He repeated what his Papal said. One of the words was "d**n" and for the life of me I can't remember what the other was. I can't believe my memory is that bad.

As for the house addition we have it dried in, wired and insulated. The wood is in the ceiling and have started staining the beams. Still have a lot to go. Slow but steady.

Happy New Year!

I never kept up with this blog because I felt like I didn't have anything important to say. I felt like my little poor blog wasn't anything like some of the well known blogs that I follow. But I have decided that I need to journal my life so that I can look back and see what was going on at certain times in my life. When I say my life I basically mean I will be blogging about my son.

So Brody has been throwing up and having diarrhea for 6-7 days now. I think it is the rotavirus. He mainly throws up at night which I think is partly due to acid reflux as well. The diarrhea is day and night. I called the pedi just to confirm my thoughts. I was right. No need in him being seen yet anyway. This is going around and if it last more than 10 days or if he gets dehydrated than I will take him in. He is his normal self. He doesn't act sick at all. I am so glad.

I can't believe he is already 2 years old.
*He is saying anything he wants to. He is even repeating some not so nice things. He told his daddy the other day to "whip su-she's a**". Su-she by the way is a doggie.
*He loves chocolate milk. Has to have it every morning. He also loves tea.
*He loves waking up and sitting in front of "his" heater near his bedroom door.
*He has just gotten into playing with cars and trucks.
*He got a battery powered Jeep from Santa that so far he has only used once mainly due to the weather.
*He sleeps in a footed sleeper everynight because he will not use any cover.
*He slept with his daddy and I for the 1st time the other night in Kemah when we went to the beach to clean up and stayed overnight unexpectantly.
*He goes through the list of names he knows and wants us to repeat them. Papal, Mimi, Wheezer, Nannie, Sissy, Kellie, Daddy, Moma, Jon Nort, Eric
*He loves him some Jon Nort.
*He loves McDonald's chicken nuggets and of course "tandy" translated means candy.
*He loves to watch "Mic Mouse" "Pooh" "Manny" "Baby" (Polar Express) "Cars".
*His first birthday party was Cars. His 2nd was Mickey Mouse.
*He doesn't sit still well. He goes 90 to nothing all day until it is time to go "night night".
*He still goes to sleep sitting in my lap mostly and sometimes daddy's lap watching one of his shows.
*He sleeps anywhere from 10-12 hours a night getting up around 10am.
*He loves to go into his room, shut the door and sit quietly "reading" all his books as he pulls them out for me to pick back up.
*He is very loving and will give "love" when asked.
*He has a temper and will try to pinch or hit when something doesn't go his way.

These are just some things I wanted to put in writing so that time doesn't get away from me and I forget at what age he done certain things.
